Trust

So important when you’re working with animals, but more so when you’re combining such diverse species as hawks, horses and humans, and it has to go all ways

It looks like a simple happy photo, but, Ben knows and trusts Tommy enough that he’s quite happy underneath him, Tommy has to trust that the little predator that arrived under him at high speed is not a horse eating monster, and we all have to trust that the client has listened to instructions and wont panic about the situation

Our days were designed around showing this and allowing people to become a part of this wonderful relationship as they learn how the two work together

It’s a relationship that can’t be forced , it has to grow and develop as each side understands the role the other can play in its life, and takes time to develop

It’s such a joy watching as horses relax around the hawks, and hawks start to see the horse as something good in its

There is no set pattern to this, each horse (and hawk) develops at its own speed, some take to it quickly, others take time, but the pleasure in whatching and helping the development of this is huge as the human becomes the link between the two
